The Elephants will be in the spotlight!
On the occasion of World Elephant Day, from Saturday, August 9 to Tuesday, August 12, Pairi Daiza will shine a light on these fascinating and endangered giants. During these four days, a stand hosted by volunteers from the Pairi Daiza Foundation will be set up in front of the Temple of Ani, in the Kingdom of Ganesha (near the elephants’ territory). There, you’ll find educational information about elephants, their role in ecosystems, the threats they face, and the concrete actions being taken to protect them.
This stand is open to all visitors, young and old, and aims to help everyone better understand the importance of conserving this iconic species.
A small gesture for a big cause
At the stand, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive elephant badge for €5. All proceeds will go directly to supporting conservation projects in the field, funded by the Pairi Daiza Foundation.
And that’s not all!
By purchasing your badge at the Pairi Daiza Foundation stand, you can also participate in a contest for a chance to win an unforgettable Animal Adventure experience!
New daily activity starting this Saturday: the encounter with Sayang
Starting this Saturday, August 9, don’t miss a special daily moment at 12:45 p.m.: the encounter with Sayang, our Bornean elephant.
From the seating area facing the pool, you’ll witness this unique moment between the animal and her keepers. A voiceover will share her story and introduce you to her subspecies — the Bornean elephant — one of the rarest in the world.
This activity is designed to raise awareness and inspire action in support of this endangered species. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover Sayang from a new perspective and take a step toward a better future for elephants.
