A destination for a day trip or a longer stay, Pairi Daiza is a zoo like no other.
As Belgium’s first paid tourist attraction, Pairi Daiza has been voted “Best Zoo in Europe” three times by the Diamond Themepark Awards. The park also holds a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide. In 2022, accommodations with views of polar bears, walruses, penguins, and Siberian tigers won the title of “Best New Hotel Concept” for Belgium and the Netherlands.
More than 2 million visitors, nearly a quarter of whom are French, visit Pairi Daiza every year. They come to watch the 7500 animals, including 5 giant pandas, the herd of Asian elelephants, and numerous rare species such as walruses, tapirs, Tasmanian devils, Spix’s macaws, or scimitar-horned oryxes. They enjoy a total change of scenery thanks to the thousands of rare trees and plants, the exceptional dimensions of semi-precious stones, the historical and authentic buildings, and the vision of an exceptional man, the founder and chairman of the park, Éric Domb.
On 75 hectares, Pairi Daiza restores the beauty of landscapes by evoking the spirituality of peoples.
Pairi Daiza is also a mission-oriented company that takes concrete action for the protection and conservation of species. By participating in about a hundred European breeding programs (EEP), designing huge and adapted territories for each species, and constantly offering varied enrichments to the animals. Beyond its walls, the Pairi Paiza Foundation is very active in favor of endangered species and their habitats.
