Information for people with reduced mobility (PRM)

Pairi Daiza is Accessible to People with Reduced Mobility

All the teams at Pairi Daiza are delighted to welcome as many visitors and residents as possible to let them discover the wildlife, flora, and cultural treasures housed in the Garden.

Pairi Daiza may, in a few rare areas of its 75 hectares, be more challenging to access for people with reduced mobility, as a historic site that we are deeply committed to preserving. For many years now, ongoing efforts have been made to provide all the facilities to those who experience more difficulties moving around.

We present them to you here.

Membership Card

Quote

Membership cards at preferential rates are also offered to PRM. These cards allow the right to visit Pairi Daiza for 365 days from the first visit, except for a few days of closure in January and February.

These PRM membership cards can only be purchased at the Pairi Daiza cash desks and therefore cannot be bought online. This is a choice made by Pairi Daiza: by issuing PRM membership cards only at the Pairi Daiza cash desks, we only verify the PRM status once, and the member does not need to show the official document attesting to this status during subsequent ticket checks.

  • Membership Card PRM Child: €95.00
  • Membership Card PRM Adult: €105.00
  • Membership Card PRM Senior (from 65 years old): €101.00

The Management reserves the right to change its rates without prior notice.

“The Mobility Aid,”a dedicated space for people with reduced mobility is open in the Gallery of Worlds, at the entrance of Pairi Daiza.

At this location you can borrow a manual wheelchair free of charge. Please note, these loans are made by reservation only.

To best prepare for a visit requiring the borrowing of a wheelchair, it is strongly recommended to make a prior request via email at: [email protected] (a copy of the ID card will be required on-site, as well as a 10 euro deposit).

Furthermore, it is possible to move around the park’s pathways on an electric scooter. We offer the rental of these vehicles at a price of 25 euros/day (a copy of the ID card will be taken on-site, as well as a 200 euro deposit). These are also subject to a reservation request via email at: [email protected].

Some Areas are Less Easily Accessible

Quote

Despite our constant efforts to make the pathways of the Garden accessible to everyone, some rare paths are not recommended for people with reduced mobility. We advise them to avoid access to:

  • The raccoon enclosure located in the Land of the Cold (steep slope)
  • The Sensory Garden located in the Kingdom of Ganesha
  • The descent in front of the white tigers in the Kingdom of Ganesha (steep slope)
  • The suspended bridge crossing the Middle Kingdom
  • The Artisan’s House in the Kingdom of Ganesha (stairs)
  • The Buddhist Temple in the Middle Kingdom (stairs to enter the Temple)
  • The underground of the Crypt
  • The Temple of Flowers (stairs)
  • The Ganesha serpent near the crested macaques

However, we recommend using the elevators located at the Nautilus and near the Penguin Cave.

Adapted Facilities

From the entrance and throughout the garden, benches are available to offer moments of rest.

For added comfort, toilets adapted for PRM have been installed at various locations in the Park.

The infirmary is located in The Last Frontier, with a waiting room, a treatment room, and a rest room. In case of need for first aid, dial +32 (0) 478/80.41.89. Please note, the first aiders are not authorized to administer medication or perform an injection on-site.

A PRM counter is also accessible at the cash desks in the “All Around the World” shop located at the new entrance to the Park.

Adapted Rooms

Quote

The Pairi Daiza Resort offers adapted rooms in each of the worlds where our accommodations have been built. People with reduced mobility, therefore, have the opportunity to sleep close to the animals, in a Paddling Bear room near the Steller’s Sea Lions, in a Tiger House to be awakened by the roars of Siberian tigers, or in a White Bear House with a view of the polar bears.
