General Terms and Conditions of Sale (School)

  1. Application of the General Terms and Conditions

The agreements between the parties are fully and exclusively governed by these general terms and conditions and the specific conditions agreed with the customer, notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in any document of the customer.

  1. School Rates

Pairi Daiza offers advantageous conditions for schools that book their visit at least 10 working days in advance. A school is defined by Pairi Daiza as a school structure with children under the supervision of teachers visiting the park exclusively on weekdays and during the school period from August 28, 2023, to July 5, 2024, and from August 26, 2024, to July 4, 2025 (excluding holidays and bridge days). To be eligible for the “school rates,” the institution must have booked in writing at least 10 working days before the visit. All members of the school group must present themselves together at the meeting places and times mentioned on the booking confirmation and in our email communication.

  1. School Bookings

3.1. How to Book?

Pairi Daiza only accepts reservations made at least 10 working days before the visit date, online, or by email using the reservation form. The school group is asked to use one form per school group and per visit day. This form is available on our website (www.pairidaiza.eu).

3.2. Confirmation of the Reservation

The reservation is final once it has been confirmed in writing by Pairi Daiza. On the day of the visit, the person responsible for the school group reports to the information desk with this confirmation. We ask any institution that has not received this document a week before the visit to contact the Reservations department (+32 68 250.833).

3.3. Unreserved Visit

Any school group that has not made a reservation and reports to the information desk will receive the school rate excluding free admission.

  1. Booking of Admission Tickets Only

On the day of the visit, the person responsible for the school group reports to the information desk with their confirmation document. For payment, they settle the balance:

Either on the same day, Or by invoice after the visit. If you choose this payment method, an official purchase order is requested by email and at the counter on the day of your visit. This document must include a letterhead, the total amount of the visit, a stamp, and a signature.

The person responsible for the school group then receives their tickets and all necessary information for the visit. They then escort the school group to the control.

  1. Meal Booking

Meal reservations must be received by Pairi Daiza at least 10 working days before the visit date, subject to availability. One choice of restaurant (Oasis or Orangerie) is accepted for all members of the school group.

Pairi Daiza confirms the reservation in writing and specifies the deposit amount (50% of the total reservation amount). If the deposit is not received within the timeframe specified in the confirmation letter, Pairi Daiza reserves the right to cancel the reservation. Once the deposit is received, the reservation is considered final.

To ensure quality service, Pairi Daiza must receive the exact number of meals by email at least 3 working days before the visit date.

  1. Booking of an Educational Activity

Reservations for educational activities must be received by Pairi Daiza at least 10 working days before the visit date, subject to availability.

Pairi Daiza confirms the reservation in writing and specifies the deposit amount (50% of the total reservation amount). Once the deposit is received, the reservation is considered final.

During an educational activity, a guide accompanies a maximum of 20 students. The times mentioned in the confirmation document are indicative. They are confirmed on the day of the visit when the school group checks in at the information desk. In case of a delay, the guide waits a maximum of 15 minutes. The duration of the visit is not extended.

  1. Booking of Green Classes

  1. The School Group is Smaller Than Expected

If on the day of the visit the actual number of participants is lower than the reserved or confirmed number, the following conditions apply:

8.1. Payment of Meals

Pairi Daiza accepts a deviation of up to 3 meals from the confirmed number of meals. Unconsumed meals above 3 must be fully paid. As a reminder, the number of reserved meals must be communicated in writing no later than 3 working days before the visit date.

8.2. Refund of Prepaid Unconsumed Meals

The difference between the deposit paid before the visit and the remaining balance is settled in the morning on the day of the visit.

8.3. Payment of Green Classes

The number of students must be confirmed by email no later than 3 working days before the visit date. On the day of the visit, Pairi Daiza still accepts a deviation of up to 3 fewer students than the confirmed number, respecting the minimum of 10 paying students (or 6 students for special education). Absent students above 3 must fully pay for their green class.

8.4 Refund of Prepaid Absent Students in Green Classes

The difference between the deposit paid before the visit and the remaining balance is settled in the morning on the day of the visit.

In the case of a multi-day green class, no refund is made if children are absent on the following days.

  1. The School Group is Larger Than Expected

If on the day of the visit the actual number of participants is higher than the reserved number, the person responsible for the school group pays for the additional admission tickets and/or meals at the information desk at the school rate and receives the corresponding number of admission tickets and/or meal tickets.

For meals, Pairi Daiza will do everything possible within its means to accommodate the additional participants under the best conditions, without guaranteeing the number of available seats and the chosen menu.

  1. Cancellations

Cancellations must be received by Pairi Daiza at least 3 working days before the visit date. They must be submitted exclusively by email.

For any non-canceled reservation and if the school group does not show up on the announced visit day, meals, animations, activities, and/or green classes will be fully invoiced, plus an amount of €30 to cover administrative costs.

10.1. Cancellation After Payment of Deposits

Deposits for meals, animations, activities, and/or green classes can be refunded according to the following percentages:

More than 20 working days before the visit date: 100%. Between 19 working days and 3 working days before the visit date: 50%. From 3 working days before the visit date: 0%.

  1. Modification and Cancellation by the Seller – Force Majeure

When, before the visit date, the performance of one of the essential services of the visit (park access, educational activities, catering, activity) becomes impossible due to an external event imposed on Pairi Daiza, except in the case of force majeure, Pairi Daiza will inform the school group as soon as possible and offer a change to the reservation by email.

The school group then has the option to:

Cancel the reservation without penalty or cost and receive a full refund by sending an email to Pairi Daiza within twenty days of the original visit date; or Accept the change proposed by Pairi Daiza.

The school group informs Pairi Daiza by email of their choice as soon as possible.

When during the visit one of the essential services cannot be performed by Pairi Daiza for a reason other than force majeure, Pairi Daiza offers the school group, if possible, a similar service on the same date or at a later date to replace the unperformed service.

Limitation of non-essential services and performances of Pairi Daiza due to bad weather, vegetative or zoological conditions, works, or force majeure does not entitle the school group to a refund or rescheduling of the performance.

In case of force majeure preventing Pairi Daiza from fulfilling part or all of its contractual obligations, Pairi Daiza’s obligations are automatically suspended, and the Park cannot be held liable to the school group in case of non-performance. When such an unforeseen and unavoidable external event occurs, the Park offers the school group a credit voucher for the value of the originally reserved visit, which can be redeemed at a later date, subject to availability. Situations considered force majeure include general or specific strikes or social actions at Pairi Daiza, medical, health, safety, or weather conditions posing a risk to Pairi Daiza’s activity or its customers, or any public obligation to close or restrict Pairi Daiza’s activity for any reason.
