For the past few weeks, Hui Hu, our Red panda, has been experiencing digestive problems. Despite the examinations already carried out by our veterinary team here at Pairi Daiza, the cause of his symptoms remains unclear.
Our team was determined to get to the bottom of things. The health and wellbeing of our animals always come first. And when we don’t have all the answers, we keep looking. We do everything we can to ensure our animals receive the best possible care.
Off to Paris for further examinations
Hui Hu therefore travelled to Paris for a day, accompanied by Philippine, his keeper, and Irène, one of our vets. Their destination was AniCura ADVETIA Veterinary Hospital, where Hui Hu underwent more in-depth examinations using specialised equipment.
The aim of the trip was simple: to better understand what was causing his symptoms so that we could provide him with the most appropriate care.

Providing the best care, every single day
Caring for our animals means being there for them every day. It means staying alert, noticing even the smallest changes in their behaviour and continuing to look for answers whenever their health requires it. Even when that means travelling further afield.
Back home with Himiko
That same evening, Hui Hu returned to Pairi Daiza and the familiar surroundings of The Middle Kingdom, where he was reunited with his partner, Himiko.
