Animal species are so different from one another that it can sometimes be difficult to tell them apart. By learning to observe them closely, let’s discover how and why scientists have classified animals in this way.

• Understand the principles used to classify vertebrates

Animal species are found all over the planet and in all types of environments, from the most hospitable to the most hostile.

Objectives:

• To explore the diversity of habitats and how the species that inhabit them have adapted to them.
• Through numerous examples, to understand the geographic distribution of species. To observe that some species are endemic, while others are found all over the world.
• To emphasize the importance of preserving natural habitats and biodiversity.
