The Pygmy hippopotamus
Pygmy hippopotamuses are solitary and primarily nocturnal animals. Their activity peaks in the late afternoon and at night. Each day, they spend about six hours feeding. During the day, they take refuge in the water or rest along riverbanks, in caves, or in burrows. They are capable of holding their breath underwater for five to six minutes.
