A unique experience

Pairi Daiza offers enthusiasts the chance to get an insider’s view of the work of our animal care staff and to go behind the scenes of this incredible profession.

What’s in store for you: an intimate day out with some of the Park’s most emblematic species, where you’ll have the chance to prepare meals for our little protégés and take part in the care they receive.

Visiting behind the scenes is fascinating enough, but as a “Caretaker for a Day”, you’ll be immersed in the day-to-day life of the Park.

The day

Below are just a few examples of the activities you may experience. Please note that this program is for guidance only and may vary according to the day, the needs and the mood of our protégés.

08:10: Arrival of the “Caregivers for a Day” at the Park (in front of the Fountain).

08:15: Presentation of the day’s programme and the essential safety instructions for your safety and the well-being of the animals.

08:30: Start of activities

12pm: Lunch at the Oasis

1pm: Resumption of activities

4pm: Free visit of Pairi Daiza

How to register

Registration is open to anyone aged 14 or over. The maximum number of participants per day is limited to 6.

Please note that this activity is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Reservations are not yet open for the 2026 season. Please contact us at [email protected] to be notified when reservations open (around early December).

Practical information

The rate of this activity is 295€.
The parking is free for this experience.

At present, there is no discount for membership card holders.

Important for Resort residents: If you take part in a Soigneur Day during your stay at Resort Pairi Daiza, you are entitled to a 233€ rate.
To benefit from this discount, please contact us by email at [email protected] with your Resort booking confirmation before making your reservation for the “Keeper for a day” experience.

We ask you to :
Bring a pair of closed shoes that can get dirty, gloves and appropriate clothing for working with animals (trousers obligatory), even in the rain.
Scrupulously respect the safety instructions and internal rules of the Pairi Daiza park. In the event of non-compliance with these instructions, the Management reserves the right to interrupt the activity at any time, without refund.

Would you like to offer your loved ones a unique experience? Opt for the Pairi Daiza “Groomer for a Day” gift voucher and spoil them with an intimate day out to meet some of the Park’s emblematic species. The lucky recipient of the gift voucher will go behind the scenes to discover the job of caretaker.

Gift vouchers are available.

These are valid for 6 months for booking. Participation, however, can take place up to one year after purchase.

Example: I purchase a gift voucher on 18/12/2025, I must book my activity before 18/06/2026, but I can participate until 18/12/2026.

A few testimonials

The privileged moments with the animals, especially the Steller sea lions that I particularly like (the closeness with them, their care), the friendliness of the carers and their very clear explanations.

I really enjoyed the activities on offer, which showed us what the work of a real caretaker is like.

I liked the availability of the keepers, the explanations they gave, the proximity to the animals without being intrusive. Thank you to Tom, Flo and all the other carers I met but whose names I haven’t remembered… The meal we had together at the end gave us a chance to chat.

Our carer was incredibly knowledgeable, and I appreciated the availability of the carers and their enthusiastic desire to share.

Everything was great: the activities (I wasn’t expecting the panda and lion to be on the programme), the pleasant and informative meetings with the different carers and Audrey and Tom’s availability throughout the activity.
