On September 20 and 21, 2025, the red Pandas will be in the Spotlight at Pairi Daiza

On September 20 and 21, Pairi Daiza will celebrate International Red Panda Day. This will be the perfect occasion to highlight a species even more endangered than the giant Panda — with fewer than 10,000 left in their natural habitat.

An awareness stand will be set up near our red Panda, Hui Hu and Himiko (next to the Tropicalia greenhouse, in The Middle Kingdom). Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about this threatened species, thanks to educational materials and information on conservation projects such as the partnership led by Pairi Daiza with local teams in eastern Nepal, working to restore the red panda’s natural ecosystem. Visitors who wish to get involved will be able to support this project by making a donation, sponsoring an animal, or purchasing a souvenir item.

A red Panda badge will be available at the awareness stand. All proceeds will go directly to the protection of the species and to the conservation project carried out in the field by the Pairi Daiza Foundation and its partners.
