Tian Bao celebrates his 8th birthday (and the last one at Pairi Daiza)!
On Sunday, June 2nd, we celebrate the eighth birthday of Tian Bao, the first giant panda born in Belgium. This will be his last birthday with us before he departs for China in the autumn. An opportunity to greet our Tian Bao once again, attend the activities offered for the occasion, and strengthen the investments we collectively make for biodiversity protection.
To mark Tian Bao’s birthday, 5% of the proceeds from your purchases this weekend, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of June, at the Panda Shop will be fully donated to the projects of the Pairi Daiza Foundation. Your contribution will help, among other things, protect red pandas in Nepal, Asian elephants, amphibians in Belgium, walruses, etc.

A contest on the Pairi Daiza app
To celebrate this special occasion, we are organizing an exclusive contest on the Pairi Daiza app. Participate in our quiz and stand a chance to win a special moment with the giant panda keepers! To enter, simply download the Pairi Daiza app and answer all the quiz questions correctly. A winner will be randomly selected from those who have answered all the questions correctly.
This birthday is an opportunity to see Tian Bao, Bao Di, and Bao Mei before they leave for China. The departure of the three “little” pandas is another step in the park’s commitment to the conservation of this iconic species.
Although their absence will be difficult for the teams and visitors, the journey of Tian Bao, Bao Di, and Bao Mei to China will contribute to strengthening efforts for the preservation of this vulnerable species. Species conservation remains the primary goal.
