La Porte des Profondeurs
The Blacktip reef shark mainly resides in shallow coastal waters, while the Whitetip reef shark swims in the open sea. Both of these species are always seen in the vicinity of coral reefs where fish are available in abundance. These two types of sharks are totally harmless to humans.
Suckerfish is hard to shake because of its suction plate which it uses to attach itself to larger fish, marine mammals and turtles.
The silver mackerel shoots like moonlight among the tentacles of sea anemones, which they leave once they are fully grown, after which they spend most of their time in the vicinity of sharks or bass where they eat little bits of food that fall down.
There are more than 250 shark families and only 30 of them are crafty killers. There is a wide range of extremes and behaviour within the genus, including the tiniest of only a few centimetres such as the dogfish, right up to the whale shark, which can reach anything from 10 to 18 metres. The greatest among them such as plankton eaters certainly are not bloodthirsty monsters that scare innocent bathers!
